Fulani people in Ghana have long faced systemic discrimination, including barriers to voting, national health-insurance access, and education. Often perceived as outsiders despite generations of residence, many communities have experienced ridicule, harassment, violence, and threats to their livestock and livelihoods.

In late 2017, after the passing of the elder brother of the Ashanti Regional Chief of the Fulani and National Vice President of Fulani Chiefs in Ghana, the Chief mobilized like-minded individuals to create Suudu Baaba Foundation.

Since its inception, the foundation has worked to integrate Fulani communities into Ghanaian society and bridge gaps in opportunity through advocacy, education, healthcare access, and economic empowerment. Its vision is a Ghana where all people, regardless of ethnicity, enjoy equality, dignity, and opportunity.
